Easy Yorkshire Puddings

Yorkshire pudding is a baked pudding. It’s is usually a part of a traditional Sunday roast in England but it is versatile and can be served in so many ways. Today I am sharing my recipe to serve it with morning or afternoon coffee or tea. That is the sweet version.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • About 1/4 cup canola or vegetable oil for cooking

For serving

  • Nutella or butter or jelly or peanut butter, etc
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk the eggs and the pinch of salt for few minutes.

  2. Add milk then whisk more.

  3. Add the sifted flour and whisk until smooth.

  4. Pour the batter in a measuring cup (for easy pouring).

  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  6. Put about 1 teaspoon oil in each cup of a muffin tin( about 6 cups).

  7. Transfer the muffin tin to the oven (middle rack).

  8. Preheat oven to 375°F with the muffin tin inside to heat up the oil.

  9. Once the oven is ready for baking, pour the butter equally in the muffin cups(about 1/2 or 3/4 full). Make sure you give the batter a quick whisk before pouring it.

  10. Let bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden(depending on your oven, you may need to put under broiler in the last 5 minutes).

  11. Place in a plate.

  12. Add Nutella, jelly or anything sweet you want to eat with in the Yorkshires’ cavities.

  13. Dust with powdered sugar.

  14. Serve immediately.
