Total time: 35 mn
Ingredients
5 Ts unsalted butter at room temperature.
5Ts granulated sugar
7 Ts cornstarch
14 Ts minimum all purpose flour
1 ts baking powder
1 Ts vanilla powder
2 Ts cocoa powder
Preparation
These cookies are really a plus to your table in special occasions, they immediately attract eyes especially children’s eyes.My kids love them, so I thought your kids will too!
1- Cream the butter with sugar using an egg whisk or electric beater, then add the egg, the vanilla powder and mix well.
2- Add in the rest of the ingredients except the cocoa powder. You may need to add more flour if necessary, in order to obtain a soft and smooth dough.
3- Roll dough into small balls, the size of chestnuts.
4- Place the dough balls in a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper.
5- Pour cocoa powder in a bowl, and put around 2 Ts of water in another bowl.
6- At this stage preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Use a bottle cup or an empty bottle upside down, to shape the mushroom cookies (I used an empty water bottle upside down).
7- Soak the rim of the bottle in water, then dust it with cocoa powder. Press the rim of the bottle a little hard into the dough ball, making a stem and voila, you will have a mushroom shaped cookie.
8- Repeat the operation to all the dough balls. If necessary, wipe the rim of the bottle with paper towel!
9- Place your pan in the preheated oven for about 15 to 20 mn, allow them
to cool a bit before serving.
